2. Vehicle Coverage

• Work with all OBD II compliant vehicle, including those equipped with VPW, PWM, ISO and KWP 2000 protocols and the next-generation protocol-Control Area Network (CAN).
• OBD II compliant vehicle: All 1996 and newer cars, light trucks and SUVs (includes all Domestic, Asian and European vehicles) sold in United States must be compliant with OBD II. It is required by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). A small umber of 1994 and 1995 model year gasoline vehicle are OBD II compliant too. For being compliant OBD II, the vehicle must have a 16-pin Data Link Connector (DLC) under the dash and a Vehicle Emission Control Information Label (VECL) which states OBD II Certified under the hood or by the radiator.
